Text Box: Cloverdale Quarters is family-owned, located just east of Danville Virginia. Cloverdale, affectionately referred to as “the farm” has been in our family for three generations. In that time many things have happened at Cloverdale but one theme has been horses, those kept by my Grandfather Leggett, for pleasure and used in the business of raising polled Hereford cattle. My parents and uncle continued the interest in horses as they rode and showed registered Quarter Horses; introduced my sister Suzanne, and me in showing Quarter Horses in a number of disciplines. Sleepy’s Man, my parents Quarter horse stallion sired many top performance horses and was himself in the top 20 performance horses for three consecutive years.
Suzanne married and moved away and I went to college and joined the department store group founded by my grandfather. After the store group was sold I moved back here to help with the farm; where we now have an exceptional facility consisting of four for-lease homes that are beautifully appointed, well maintained and all inclusive; a handsome barn with a limited number of stalls; excellent pastures with all board fencing, automatic well water dispensers, separate tack lockers for boarders, and lots of grass due to pasture size. We have a lighted riding ring and access to more than 100 miles of trails.
All in all I cannot imagine a nicer place to live and have my horse where I can tack up and be on the trail in minutes.
